GOOD DAY FOR IT OPENS IN LOS ANGELES ON JULY 22
Summer 2011 Theatrical Release Set for Award Winning Drama(Los Angeles, July 13, 2011) – Industrial Entertainment will release Nazz Productions Good Day for It theatrically in multiple U.S. markets for domestic distributor Naedomi Media, in the summer of 2011, beginning in Los Angeles on Friday, July 22 at the Downtown Independent with more cities to follow. The film won Favorite Feature at the 2011 Sonoma International Film Festival, then went on to play Philadelphia’s Cinefest, the Nashville Film Festival and the Newport Beach Film Festival respectively. The authentic and suspenseful drama tells the story of a man forced to abandon his wife and daughter years earlier and now must risk his life to settle an old score and reunite his family. The film stars Robert Patrick (Terminator 2), Academy Award® nominee Hal Holbrook (Into the Wild), Lance Henriksen (Aliens), Samantha Mathis (Pump Up the Volume), Robert Englund (A Nightmare On Elm Street) and Kathy Baker (Edward Scissorhands). Good Day for It was written by Nick Stagliano and James Canfield Wolf and was directed by Stagliano.
A modern day Western set over the course of one day, Good Day for It is a variation of High Noon crossed with A History of Violence – where the stakes are life and death as Luke Cain (Robert Patrick) returns home to reunite with his teenage daughter Emily (Mika Boorem) and her mom Sarah (Samantha Mathis). Forced to leave town when he betrayed Lyle Tyrus (Lance Henriksen), the ruthless leader of a rural crime gang, in order to save his sick daughter’s life, Luke has stayed away to protect Sarah and Emily from Tyrus’ vengeance. Fifteen years later, Emily nurses a burning desire to see her father. Luke agrees to meet on the outskirts of town, but as father and daughter embrace in the local cafe, fate intervenes as Lyle’s brother Norman (Richard Brake) and his killing crew Wayne Jackson (Robert Englund) and Dale Acton (Christian Kane), just happen to stop in. At the cafe, Luke meets Hec Hawkins (Hal Holbrook) and Rose Carter (Kathy Baker), the cook and waitress, who know a man in need when they see one. Adding to the suspense is the cafe’s regular customer, Deputy Doug Brady (Joe Flanigan). As tension builds throughout the day, Luke is forced to make a decision before Lyle and his gang return to exact their revenge. Does he leave his daughter behind again, or wait for his worst nightmare to walk straight through the cafe’s door. Only time will tell if today really is a — good day for it!
The film was produced by Stagliano’s Nazz Productions and will be distributed by Steve Break’s Naedomi Media with Industrial Entertainment handling theatrical distribution. “I am extremely excited to work with Steve Break’s Naedomi Media and Eric Bassett at Industrial Entertainment in shaping the domestic release of our film,” remarked Stagliano. “My producing partners Lou DiGiaimo Jr., Tom Rondinella, Jacqui Squatriglia and I are very impressed with the enthusiasm and commitment that both men have shown and justifies our belief in the quality of the film. We are very pleased to know that the strong performances by our tremendous cast, led by Robert Patrick as the anchor of the piece, will receive the larger audience awareness we feel they so richly deserve”.
